Coinbase Vows to Bring Users Closer Amid Trust Erosion Concerns
Coinbase's Base App has been struggling to gain traction among crypto enthusiasts due to concerns about its leadership and culture.
In a recent X interaction, Jordan Fish, who leads Coinbase's trading products, acknowledged that the company has been 'a little bit distant from users, particularly crypto natives.'
Fish stated his goal is to bring builders and users closer together, better represent the voice of the on-chain community, and focus on creating products people enjoy using.
This comes after a viral incident involving Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong's CryptoPunk profile picture sparked a meme coin frenzy on Base, which quickly rose to a $20 million market capitalization before plummeting when Armstrong purchased the actual CryptoPunk and changed his profile picture again.
