T. Rowe Price's Crypto Basket ETF: A Test of Institutional Demand

T. Rowe Price has launched its first cryptocurrency product, a spot exchange-traded product (ETP) called TKNZ on the NYSE Arca exchange on July 16.

The ETP is a diversified multi-token basket, which has traditionally been a less popular choice among investors compared to single-asset spot ETFs.

The single-asset spot ETFs tracking Ethereum, XRP, and Solana have pulled in roughly $13.6 billion combined, while four comparable multi-asset products built from scratch have gathered about $161 million over the same period.

T. Rowe Price's entry into the crypto market is significant because it brings with it adviser and retirement-platform relationships that the original basket thesis assumed would show up.
