A recent analysis of congressional disclosures has shed light on the cryptocurrency holdings of US lawmakers. In accordance with the 2012 STOCK (Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge) Act, members of Congress and other government employees are required to report stock, bond, and cryptocurrency trades exceeding $1,000 within a 45-day timeframe.
The analysis identified five cryptocurrencies favored by US Congress members: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Cardano. These lawmakers' investments vary in nature, ranging from individual holdings worth up to $250,000 to exposure through exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler has reported holding both Solana and XRP, valued at up to $15,000 each. Reps. Barry Moore and Mike Collins have disclosed Cardano holdings, with the former's portion worth up to $45,000.
