Cambodia Cracks Down on Crypto Scam Kingpins with Life Imprisonment

Cambodia has taken a significant step in combating online fraud by passing a law that allows life imprisonment for operators of large online fraud rings, including crypto scams.

The legislation targets cross-border cybercrime groups running fake investment platforms, impersonation scams, and pig-butchering schemes that target victims worldwide.

Prison sentences range from five years to life, depending on the severity of the crime. Fines can exceed $250,000 in serious cases.
