Split Capital Crypto Hedge Fund Dissolved Amid Industry Decline

Crypto hedge funds have long been a popular option for investors seeking high returns in the digital asset space. However, it appears that one prominent fund is no longer viable. Split Capital, a cryptocurrency hedge fund founded by Zaheer Ebtikar, has announced its dissolution due to the decline of the industry.

Ebtikar stated that his return rates were about 100% in 2024 and 20% in 2025, but claimed that these figures are irrelevant. 'The entire crypto hedge fund industry has basically faded out of the picture,' he explained.

While Split Capital's assets under management reached an eight-figure level, Ebtikar believes that operating a crypto hedge fund is no longer a sustainable business model. The fund will continue to operate on a smaller scale using only proprietary capital and return its assets to investors by the end of 2025.
