Ark Invest Buys into Bullish Amid Tokenization Hopes
Ark Invest has made a significant investment in Bullish shares, purchasing a combined $4.4 million worth of stock across three exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The buys, which total 122,020 shares at an average price of around $36.05 each, were spread across the Innovation fund (ARKK), Next Generation Internet fund (ARKW), and Blockchain and Fintech Innovation fund (ARKF).
The purchase is notable given Bullish's recent struggles. The company's stock has fallen 15.4% over five trading sessions, following a disappointing earnings report that showed a net loss of $604.9 million despite revenue growth of 48.7%. However, the losses are expected to be mitigated by the integration of Equiniti, a UK-based provider of share registration and investor services, which Bullish acquired for $4.2 billion.
The deal represents one of the largest M&A transactions in the crypto-adjacent space and signals that Bullish is pivoting hard from being purely a digital asset exchange toward becoming a broader financial infrastructure company. The integration of Equiniti's regulated agent capabilities with Bullish's tokenization infrastructure is expected to create an integrated blockchain-enabled issuer services provider, allowing traditional businesses to issue and manage tokenized versions of real-world assets.
