IEOs Surpass IDOs in Crypto Fundraising Sector with Significant ROI Advantage
The cryptocurrency fundraising sector has undergone a notable shift in 2026, with Initial Exchange Offerings (IEOs) dominating the market. According to data from CryptoRank, IEOs have accounted for 53.8% of positive year-to-date returns on investment, while Initial Dex Offerings (IDOs) have only shown 2.6% positive ROI.
The disparity between IEOs and IDOs is striking, with a staggering 97.37% of IDOs remaining in the negative zone this year. Centralized exchanges (CEXs), despite their custodial nature, offer stricter project selection and a more dependable listing pathway, contributing to the success of IEOs.
The trend suggests that investors are increasingly turning to IEOs for stability and reliability, as opposed to IDOs, which have been plagued by poor performance. The resurgence of IEOs highlights the importance of quality management in fundraising and may have significant implications for the wider market.
