Crypto Market Sees Heavy Losses as Dogecoin and HYPE Fall Nearly 10% Each
The cryptocurrency market experienced a week of significant losses, with Dogecoin and Hyperliquid's HYPE recording the steepest declines among major digital assets. Both tokens fell by nearly 10%, while Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP also closed the week lower.
The market faced pressure from spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund outflows, a strong US dollar, and expectations that interest rates could stay high. In contrast, broader US stock indexes gained support from a rotation into companies outside the semiconductor sector.
Dogecoin dropped 9.6% over the seven-day period to trade near $0.076, while Hyperliquid's HYPE fell 9.9%. Ether declined 8.4% to about $1,581, and XRP lost 7.8% to trade near $1.06.
Solana and Tron showed more stable price action, trading close to $72 and holding near $0.32, respectively. Their performance separated them from memecoins and larger altcoins that faced heavier selling.
