Chicago Fed President Predicts Multiple Rate Cuts in 2026 Amid Crypto Market Recovery
Austan Goolsbee, the President of the Chicago Federal Reserve, has made a significant prediction regarding interest rates in 2026. In a recent statement, he indicated that there may be several rate cuts later this year, but cautioned policymakers to exercise caution to avoid exacerbating economic uncertainty and inflation.
The forecast comes at a time when the crypto market is showing signs of stabilization. Despite experiencing fluctuations, cryptocurrency prices have been on an upward trend compared to their recent lows. Bitcoin (BTC) has surged from $62,694.75 to $66,222.15 since February 24, while Ethereum (ETH) has risen from $1,807.64 to $1,964.65.
In contrast, traditional safe-haven assets like gold and silver have maintained their value. Gold is currently trading above the $5,000 mark at $5,177.90 per ounce, representing a 3.53% gain over the last five days. Silver has also seen an increase of 1.59%, reaching $89.68 per ounce.
