Cronos Integrates Native Stablecoins and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol

Cronos, an EVM-compatible layer one blockchain network, has made significant strides in its development by launching native $USDC and Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) alongside $EURC. This integration is a major milestone for the network as it prepares for the launch of the Cronos app.

The rollout marks the first time a blockchain ecosystem has introduced all three Circle-backed products simultaneously. The integration aims to provide users, institutions, and developers with seamless access to compliant stablecoin infrastructure.

Native $USDC is now live on the Cronos network, backed 1:1. It will serve as the central settlement asset within the Cronos app, allowing users to deposit their tokens and use them for trading various assets. Each transfer on the platform will be settled in $USDC, redeemable for U.S. dollars at a 1:1 ratio.

The launch of CCTP enables users to transfer $USDC between compatible blockchain ecosystems without relying on third-party bridges or wrapped tokens. This mechanism allows consumers to transact $USDC from over 20 compatible chains to Cronos.
