Gravity Bridge Hacker Transfers Additional Funds to Tornado Cash

The Gravity Bridge exploit has led to significant financial losses for cryptocurrency holders. A recent transaction has seen an additional $2.1 million in stolen ETH transferred to Tornado Cash, a decentralized mixer used to obscure the trail of stolen assets.

CertiK, a blockchain security firm, reported that the funds were moved through two externally owned accounts (EOAs) in a series of transactions over the past 24 hours. This brings the total laundered through Tornado Cash to over 2,000 ETH, highlighting the persistent challenges in blockchain security and regulatory enforcement.

The Gravity Bridge hack occurred in mid-2024 and exploited a vulnerability in the cross-chain bridge protocol. The attacker drained over $5.4 million worth of ETH from the bridge's smart contract, prompting an investigation by CertiK and other blockchain forensics teams.
