Toncoin has officially changed its name to Gram, marking a return to its original identity tied to Telegram's early blockchain plans. The move is part of a broader effort by Pavel Durov, the creator of Telegram, to revamp the network and make it more competitive in the crypto space.
The rebranding process is expected to take around three weeks to complete, during which time the TON token will continue to operate under its new name. The change aims to separate the blockchain's identity from its currency, with Toncoin remaining as the label for the network and Gram becoming the asset used across it.
The move is part of Durov's 'Make TON Great Again' roadmap, which includes a series of upgrades and improvements aimed at increasing the network's technical superiority. These efforts include a redesigned website, new developer tools, and performance upgrades.
