Solana Prepares for Quantum Threats with Falcon Testing

Solana's validator clients Anza and Firedancer have begun testing Falcon, a post-quantum cryptographic signature scheme, in preparation for potential quantum threats to the network.

Falcon is one of the signature standards formally selected by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as part of its post-quantum cryptography standardization process.

The test aims to ensure Solana's readiness when quantum computers become capable of breaking current public-key encryption systems, which is expected to happen at some point in the future.
