Binance Outflows Surge to $1.2 Billion Amid Ethereum Withdrawal Frenzy
Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volumes, has seen a significant surge in weekly net outflows. According to DefiLlama data viewed on Sunday, Binance recorded $1.23 billion in net outflows during the week beginning June 29, a 207% increase from roughly $400 million the week prior.
This marks a three-year high for Ethereum withdrawal transactions, with over 166,000 withdrawal transactions in a single day reported by CryptoQuant on Friday. Binance's monthly net outflows totaled about $3.2 billion.
The sharp surge in outflows raises questions about user trust and confidence in the exchange. The exact reasons behind this movement are unclear, but it is evident that investors are increasingly wary of holding assets on the platform.
