Near Protocol Surpasses Shiba Inu in Market Capitalization

Near Protocol's recent surge in market capitalization has marked a significant shift in the cryptocurrency landscape. With its trading volume reaching $858 million, Near Protocol has edged past Shiba Inu, which has struggled to maintain its position amidst a liquidity crunch on major platforms.

The supply of Shiba Inu coins on exchanges has decreased from 140 trillion at the beginning of 2025 to just 81 trillion today, according to CryptoQuant. This decline is attributed to long-term holders swapping their coins for self-custodial wallets, but it also reflects a lack of fresh investment in the meme currency sector.

Near Protocol's market capitalization stands at $3.32 billion, while Shiba Inu's is at $3.23 billion. The gap between the two projects highlights the growing interest in cryptocurrencies with real-world utility and practical applications.
