US Strikes Iran, Revokes Oil Waiver Amid SEC Crypto Agenda
The US has launched another wave of airstrikes on Iran, revoking a waiver that allowed Iran to sell oil globally. The strikes aim to impose consequences for attacks and harassment against commercial vessels carrying civilians in international waters.
According to the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, the waiver was revoked on July 7 local time. Related wind-down transactions are permitted until midnight Eastern Time on July 17.
The SEC has released its 2026 regulatory agenda statement, outlining plans to adapt the regulatory framework to current market conditions and promote trading of tokenized securities.
