IREN Outshines Nvidia as AI Infrastructure Player

Nvidia's dominance in the AI market may be on shaky ground as IREN, an Australian infrastructure company, gains traction. With a market cap of $14 billion and a 150% rally over the past year, IREN is poised to outperform Nvidia and other top AI companies.

The company rebranded from Iris Energy in 2024, expanding its focus from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure. Its big break came with two massive deals: a $9.7 billion contract with Microsoft for AI cloud services and a $3.4 billion deal with Nvidia. These partnerships have catapulted IREN into the spotlight.

Analysts predict that IREN's revenue will surge from $510 million in 2025 to $6.44 billion by 2028, while its adjusted EBITDA is expected to grow from $270 million in 2025 to $4.89 billion in 2028. With an enterprise value of $15.7 billion, IREN's valuation seems reasonable at seven and ten times next year's sales and adjusted EBITDA.

While concerns about short-term spending may be compressing IREN's valuations, the company has a promising long-term outlook. Its Bitcoin holdings could also become more valuable if the cryptocurrency market stabilizes.
