California Crypto Mogul Convicted of Kidnapping Plot Linked to Bitcoin Heist
A 25-year-old California cryptocurrency mogul has been convicted of orchestrating an attempted kidnapping in Connecticut as part of a larger scheme linked to a $245 million Bitcoin heist.
Adam Iza, also known as 'The Godfather,' pleaded guilty on Monday to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery. He faces a prison term of at least 14 years when sentenced.
The investigation revealed that Iza and his co-conspirators targeted the family after their son was involved in stealing millions of dollars' worth of cryptocurrency from a Washington, D.C., resident.
