Spacecoin Revolutionizes Communication in Space-Based Data Centers

Spacecoin, a decentralized internet network, is addressing the need for efficient communication in space-based data centers and underconnected regions. By deploying a blockchain-enabled satellite constellation in low-Earth orbit, the project aims to establish a shared layer for orbital data centers.

The team has made significant progress, launching its first satellite in December 2024 and expanding the network with three additional satellites in November 2025. The deployment of these satellites enables testing of intersatellite links, a crucial technology for direct communication between satellites without routing through Earth.

Spacecoin's digital currency, SPACE, plays a key role in enabling satellite operators to monetize their unused capacity, making it easier for retail investors to engage with the space economy. The project has established strategic agreements to connect communities across various countries, including Nigeria, Kenya, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
