Aave's $15 Billion Outflow Sparks DeFi Security Concerns
A recent security breach has left Aave's DeFi lending protocol reeling, with a significant outflow of $15.1 billion over the course of three days.
The incident was sparked by an exploit involving the rsETH token, which forced the protocol to pause certain operations and led to a sharp decline in total value locked (TVL).
As a result of this event, user confidence has been shaken, leading to a shift in capital allocation within the DeFi ecosystem.
Meanwhile, SparkLend saw its TVL increase by $1.3 billion, as investors sought safer alternatives amidst the uncertainty.
