Ethereum Foundation Unstake Raises Selloff Concerns
The Ethereum Foundation's recent activity in unstaking approximately $50 million worth of ETH has raised eyebrows among crypto enthusiasts. As per Arkham Intelligence data, the organization transferred 21,271 ETH, valued at around $49.66 million, from its Ethereum staking positions via Lido.
Each batch of these transfers consisted of roughly 811 wrapped staked ETH (wstETH) from the crypto staking platform. During unstaking, these assets were deposited into Lido's unstETH contract, effectively converting them to liquid ETH once the normal staking platform unlock period had passed.
The transferred funds significantly reduced the Ethereum Foundation's ETH balance from nearly 70,000 ETH to around 52,965 ETH. Almost $50 million worth of ETH was also re-liquidated in the organization's treasury wallet.
