Crypto PACs Flood US Congressional Races With $7.2 Million in Media Spending
Cryptocurrency-backed political action committees (PACs) are making a significant impact on US congressional races, with significant investments in media advertising.
Fairshake, a PAC funded by crypto companies, has reported $7.2 million in media spending this week alone, targeting congressional races in Georgia, Alabama, Nebraska, Kentucky, and Texas.
The money is aimed at shaping the composition of Congress and influencing legislation related to cryptocurrency. Fairshake's affiliates have burned through over $130 million on political advertising in the 2024 election cycle, with more than $190 million held in reserve as of January.
