Cardano Surges on Major Upgrades and Altcoin Rebound
Cardano's (ADA) price has surged by approximately 8% over the last 22 hours, driven by significant protocol upgrades and a strong altcoin rebound. The upcoming RealFi Phase 1 Testnet upgrade, set to launch around July 6, is seen as 'the first public step toward next-generation stablecoin infrastructure' by Charles Hoskinson.
The upgrade is described as 'the largest in Cardano's history.' Protocol Version 11, also known as the 'van Rossem' hard fork, will bring cheaper smart contracts, ZK-ready cryptography, and new built-in functions. Binance and Coinbase have signaled readiness for the upgrade, with around 88% of blocks over the past week produced by the v11 node software.
The market is repricing ADA ahead of these concrete network upgrades, expected to improve smart contract efficiency and unlock new RealFi/stablecoin use cases. Cardano's move is part of a broader crypto and altcoin rebound, but it stands out as one of the strongest performers.
