Canadian-based mining company American Bitcoin (ABTC) has reached a significant milestone in its operations by energizing over 11,000 new application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) at its Drumheller site. This expansion brings the company's total ASIC count to approximately 89,242, making it one of the largest mining fleets globally.
The newly energized rigs are expected to significantly boost ABTC's computing power, generating a combined output of around 28.1 exahashes per second (EH/s). To put this into perspective, that is more than 28 times the processing capacity compared to its previous capabilities.
The announcement follows a tough business quarter for ABTC, which reported a $59.5 million loss in the fourth quarter of 2025 due to reduced revenue and declining crypto prices. However, despite these challenges, the company's share price surged by around 11.7% on Wednesday, reaching $1.38 per share.
