Coinbase Tokenizes US Stocks for Global Access

Coinbase Global's stock price edged higher after the company announced plans to launch tokenized U.S. stocks backed one-for-one by real shares.

The product will cover major companies including SpaceX, Nvidia, Google, Strategy, and Bitmine, allowing users to trade, hold, redeem, and transfer the tokenized shares onchain.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said the product gives users actual ownership through onchain rails, combining shareholder rights with blockchain-based transfers.
