Ethereum's Underperformance: ETH/BTC Ratio Hits 10-Month Low
The Ethereum (ETH) to Bitcoin (BTC) ratio has reached a 10-month low, indicating that Ethereum's value is lagging behind Bitcoin's. This divergence in capital flows has been attributed to institutional investors favoring BTC-based investment products over ETH spot ETFs.
According to BitMart, a cryptocurrency exchange, the drop in the ETH/BTC ratio is not a short-term fluctuation but rather a structural shift in the crypto market. The exchange notes that the growing adoption of BTC among institutional investors has led to a significant increase in capital inflows into BTC-based products.
The contrast between BTC and ETH is evident in their respective investment trends. While BTC-based ETFs have experienced steady growth, ETH spot ETFs have seen significant outflows. This disparity has been attributed to regulatory uncertainty surrounding ETH tokens, which has discouraged institutional investors from investing in them.
