US Crypto Firms Accelerate Perpetual Futures Plans Amid Regulatory Uncertainty

Crypto firms are gearing up to launch US perpetual futures before a potential regulatory shift by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Kraken's parent company, Payward, announced the acquisition of Bitnomial for up to $550 million. This deal will grant Kraken access to Bitnomial's perpetual futures offering.

Perpetual futures are contracts without an expiration date, enabling high leverage and amplifying both gains and losses. Critics warn that these features make perpetual futures particularly risky, especially for retail investors who may not fully understand the mechanics of such contracts.
