Irish Criminal's Decade-Old Bitcoin Wallet Roars Back to Life
A decade after being considered lost forever, a significant chunk of Bitcoin from an Irish criminal's wallet has reappeared on the blockchain. The wallet, belonging to Clifton Collins, had been inactive since its creation in 2014 but suddenly transferred 500 BTC to Coinbase.
This move comes as a surprise, especially given that Collins' fortune was believed to have ended up in a landfill in County Galway. However, it is unclear who or what triggered the transfer, and authorities are left wondering whether the keys have been found or if Collins managed to keep a copy.
