Ethereum Tokenization Gains Momentum on Wall Street Amid Regulatory Evolution
The institutional adoption of blockchain technology is accelerating as Wall Street firms increasingly leverage public networks like Ethereum for tokenized assets. According to Vivek Raman, co-founder of Etherealize, financial institutions are now treating public blockchains as essential production infrastructure, akin to the internet.
This marks a significant shift from a year and a half ago when engagement was largely exploratory. Now, institutions are actively exploring the tokenization of various assets, including stocks, bonds, real estate, and investment funds on Ethereum.
Ethereum's established dominance in stablecoins and liquidity has created a powerful network effect attracting traditional financial players. Major crypto exchanges like Coinbase Global are expanding their offerings into tokenized traditional assets, with plans to launch options trading for both cryptocurrencies and equities.
