Spacecoin Aims to Revolutionize Communication Layers for Space-Based Data Centers

Spacecoin is a decentralized internet network that seeks to provide communication layers for space-based data centers and underconnected terrestrial regions. The project's goal is to create a shared, interoperable layer for the orbital economy by deploying a blockchain-enabled satellite constellation in low-Earth orbit.

The development of space-based data centers introduces a critical bottleneck: it cannot function efficiently without a reliable communication network tying it together. Spacecoin aims to solve this issue by decentralizing the network and providing a neutral protocol for machines to exchange information securely.

Spacecoin has already deployed physical infrastructure, including its first satellite, CTC-0, in December 2024. The team facilitated 'the world's first end-to-end blockchain transaction through space' in October 2025 and expanded the network with three additional satellites in November 2025.
