Ethereum Stares Down History: Three Losing Quarters Loom
Ethereum is on the verge of making history for all the wrong reasons.
The second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization is set to record three consecutive losing quarters for the first time in its history.
At press time, Ethereum's price stood at $1,732, according to CoinGecko data. The altcoin has never experienced this level of decline before.
The latest quarter saw a 28.28% drop, and things are not looking up for ETH bulls as the current quarter is also down 18.29%.
The network's struggles can be attributed to internal crises, leadership instability, and the poor performance of the broader cryptocurrency market.
A funding crisis looms large over Ethereum, with an annual cost of around $30 million to sustain researchers, client teams, and coordination groups.
