Bitcoin Surges Above $64K as Iran Optimism Fuels Risk-On Sentiment
Bitcoin rebounded above $64,000 on Saturday after improving sentiment around a potential U.S.-Iran peace agreement lifted risk assets. The cryptocurrency rose close to 1% and was headed for a weekly gain as investors continued to monitor institutional demand.
The market also received a boost from the strong Nasdaq debut of SpaceX, which saw its shares surge about 19% in their first trading session, fueling a broader rally in growth-oriented assets.
However, renewed scrutiny of Strategy's Bitcoin holdings weighed on prices. The company disclosed earlier this month that it sold 32 bitcoin for about $2.5 million to help fund dividends on its STRC preferred shares.
