Thai Authorities Raid Illegal Bitcoin Mining Site Causing Over $80,000 in Power Losses
Thai authorities recently conducted a raid on an illegal bitcoin mining site located in a four-story commercial building. According to reports, the building's abnormally high electricity consumption led law enforcement officers to investigate and subsequently discover that the site was allegedly illegally tapping into the main power grid.
The investigation found that multiple Bitcoin mining machines were being operated on the fourth floor of the building, with the registered monthly electricity bill being significantly lower than the estimated $80,000 in losses caused by the excessive consumption. The authorities have seized the relevant equipment and are conducting further investigations into individuals involved in the case.
