Pennsylvania Lawmakers Target Cryptocurrency Kiosk Scams

In response to a surge in cryptocurrency kiosk scams, Pennsylvania lawmakers are moving to establish regulations to safeguard consumers.

The state's Office of Attorney General has received over 90 complaints about cryptocurrency fraud, with losses totaling $12.3 million, according to senior deputy state attorney general Paul Edger.

Senate Bill 1015, sponsored by Senator Pennycuick, would require virtual currency kiosks to display anti-fraud warnings and enhance safeguards against financial exploitation. The bill also calls for 24/7 customer service support and a money transmitter license.
