Cosmos' Leap Wallet Shutting Down in May, Urges Users to Redelegate ATOM Tokens

Leap Wallet, a key player in the Cosmos ecosystem, has announced its decision to shut down operations by May 28. The noncustodial wallet solution, backed by Terraform Labs, will discontinue its software suite, affecting its browser extension, mobile apps for iOS and Android, the WebApp interface, and the Swapfast exchange platform.

The shutdown follows a broader shift in the crypto wallet space, where competition and changing market dynamics continue to reshape user tools. Despite the closure, Leap's team has expressed confidence in the long-term direction of interchain development and cryptocurrency adoption.

Users with delegated ATOM tokens on Leap's validator are advised to redelegate them to another provider to avoid missing out on staking rewards. The team emphasized the importance of acting early due to network unbonding periods that may delay redelegation.
