Near Protocol Sets Sights on Scalability with Dynamic Resharding Upgrade
Near Protocol's forthcoming upgrade is expected to revolutionize its scalability by automating growth through dynamic resharding. This feature will enable the network to add shards automatically as demand grows, making it more efficient in handling high traffic. In traditional blockchains, adding shards requires a full protocol upgrade, which involves weeks of validator coordination and voting.
With dynamic resharding, Near Protocol will be able to split a shard into smaller, independent partitions as needed, similar to how a grocery store would hire new cashiers and customer staff when its checkout lines get too busy. This will enable the network to handle more transactions in parallel without manual intervention.
