France Now Binance's Only Hope for EU-Wide Crypto License
Binance is facing significant challenges in its bid to secure a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license, which would grant it access to operate across Europe. The company's application in Greece has reportedly stalled due to concerns raised by European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde and the Greek government.
The setback leaves France as Binance's last realistic route to securing EU-wide authorization before the June 30 deadline. Under MiCA, crypto firms must secure approval from a member state regulator to continue serving customers across the bloc through its passporting system.
Binance has reiterated its commitment to the European market and expressed concerns that delays in obtaining authorizations could reduce liquidity and limit competition for crypto businesses operating in Europe.
