Bhutan Transfers $45 Million in Bitcoin Amid Cryptocurrency Market Volatility
Bhutan's government has made a significant move in the cryptocurrency market by transferring 738 Bitcoin to an external wallet. According to on-chain data provided by Arkham, the transfer was completed in under an hour, indicating a coordinated effort.
The transfer is part of Bhutan's strategy to sell its Bitcoin holdings gradually, which has allowed the government to realize gains without causing sharp market shocks. This approach stands out as the kingdom's role in the cryptocurrency market has drawn attention due to its potential impact on supply.
Crypto markets are currently facing significant pressure from liquidations, ETF outflows, and weak sentiment. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index has fallen to 13, indicating extreme fear, which can be a sign of a local bottom after leverage clears from the market.
