Ethereum Co-Founder Lubin Bolsters Loan Collateral Amid Price Decline
Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin has taken significant action to safeguard loan collateral, injecting approximately $170 million worth of ETH into three Sky protocol vaults. The transfer of 110,000 ETH marked a substantial movement from Lubin's originating wallet, which had remained inactive for over three years.
The transaction occurred during a period of intense downward pressure on Ethereum, with the asset trading near $1,586 and experiencing a nearly 5% decline within 24 hours. Ethereum temporarily relinquished its second-place position among cryptocurrencies by market capitalization to Tether's USDT.
Lubin's collateral management activities coincided with position adjustments from other notable Ethereum stakeholders, including Bankless co-founder David Hoffman, who publicly disclosed reducing his ETH holdings on May 20.
