Ripple and Ondo Finance have made significant strides in advancing the adoption of tokenised Treasury products by successfully testing a hybrid settlement flow.

The pilot test involved redeeming a portion of Ripple's holdings in OUSG, a tokenised short-term U.S. government Treasury product issued by Ondo, on the XRP Ledger. The transaction processed in under five seconds, with the public-chain asset movement linked to regulated payment infrastructure via Mastercard and JPMorgan bank rails.

The use of tokenised Treasury products has gained traction due to their ability to provide onchain access to short-term U.S. government debt. However, redemption and cash movement still require connections to traditional banking systems. This pilot test demonstrates the potential for seamless integration between blockchain technology and regulated payment infrastructure.
