Israeli Reservist Charged with Leaking Classified Defense Data to Iran

A former Israeli military reservist has been charged with leaking classified defense data to Iranian intelligence in exchange for cryptocurrency payments, highlighting concerns about insider threats to sensitive systems.

Raz Cohen, a 26-year-old who served in the Iron Dome command and control unit, is accused of transmitting 27 photos and videos that revealed firing processes, rates of fire, and arming procedures within the Iron Dome system. He also shared GPS coordinates of missile defense batteries located at Hatzerim and Palmachim bases, as well as the locations of seven Israeli Air Force installations.

According to the indictment, Cohen knowingly transferred sensitive information and received cryptocurrency payments in return, confirming his awareness of contact with a foreign intelligence agent. The Iranian handler allegedly attempted to coerce Cohen by threatening exposure through a Telegram profile using a photo of his sister.
