Variational Secures $50 Million to Launch Real-World Asset Markets

Variational, an on-chain derivatives trading protocol, has secured $50 million in a Series A funding round led by Dragonfly to launch its real-world asset markets. The new markets will enable traders to access perpetual contracts on commodities such as gold, silver, copper, and WTI crude alongside crypto positions.

The company's approach aggregates and routes liquidity from traditional markets and on-chain venues, addressing the persistent problem of thin liquidity in newly launched markets for tokenized real-world assets. By connecting traders to existing liquidity, Variational aims to make trading in traditional financial assets more accessible on-chain.
