President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to the banking industry, claiming they are trying to undermine his administration's efforts to create a legal framework for stablecoins.

The GENIUS Act, which seeks to establish clear guidelines for digital assets tied to physical assets like fiat currency or gold, has gained support from the crypto industry. However, negotiations between the White House and representatives of the banking and crypto industries are ongoing to iron out the bill's language.

Trump took to his Truth Social platform to express his concerns, stating that the banks' attempts to undermine the GENIUS Act will only benefit China and make America less competitive in the global market.
