SEC Chairman Set to Address Crypto Summit Sponsored by Firm at Odds with Agency

The upcoming Digital Chamber's DC Blockchain Summit is set to feature US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Paul Atkins as a top speaker. However, what may raise eyebrows is that the event is sponsored by Unicoin, a crypto firm currently embroiled in a high-profile legal dispute with the SEC.

Unicoin's CEO Alexander Konanykhin has accused the agency of being misled into pursuing a 'legacy war on crypto'. He claims that rogue agency enforcers are driving this effort and have prevented his company from communicating with SEC leaders. This, he alleges, has resulted in the agency being defrauded by these individuals.

The legal battle between Unicoin and the SEC dates back to last year when the agency sued the company for raising $100 million for tokens that were not backed by real estate as promised. Konanykhin's company is seeking to educate the SEC about its claims, with a campaign involving trucks driving around Washington displaying messages such as 'The War on Crypto is NOT over.'

While Unicoin executives may be restricted from speaking directly with the SEC Chairman, they are set to participate in the summit alongside him. The Digital Chamber has defended the event's sponsorship, stating that it provides an opportunity for companies to educate and build bridges.
