$350K in Crypto Transferred by US Government Amid Ongoing Bankruptcy Proceedings
The US government has transferred approximately $350,000 worth of cryptocurrency seized from accounts linked to FTX and Alameda Research. The assets were confiscated three years ago as part of investigations into the failure of these companies.
This move does not necessarily signal a sale, but rather administrative activity associated with the ongoing bankruptcy and recovery process. The funds may be included in the pool of recovered assets used to reimburse victims who suffered financial losses due to FTX's 2022 failure.
FTX recently announced that it will make its fourth round of repayments under its Chapter 11 recovery plan, allocating roughly $2.2 billion to creditors. This indicates that the transfer is unlikely to result in a sell-off in the cryptocurrency market.
