Tether Partners with Whop Marketplace for Stablecoin Payments
Tether, a leading stablecoin issuer, has made a strategic investment in Whop Marketplace, a platform for digital product creators. As part of this partnership, Whop will integrate Tether's open-source Wallet Development Kit (WDK) to enable transactions using the USDT and USAT stablecoins.
The WDK is designed to provide fast and secure global payments, which is particularly beneficial in regions where traditional payment systems are slow or costly. This integration will also lay the groundwork for DeFi tools such as lending and borrowing, creating a non-custodial banking layer on top of Whop's existing platform.
Whop's co-founder and CEO, Steven Schwartz, highlighted that the investment valued the company at $1.6 billion. The new partnership is expected to enable Whop to expand into markets in Latin America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, strengthening its financial infrastructure for international users. Additionally, Tether plans to introduce AI tools for autonomous earnings.
