Robinhood Unveils Global Expansion Plans Amid Crypto Market Shift

Robinhood, a well-known brokerage platform, has announced its global expansion and product updates. This move is part of the company's transformation from a retail broker to a crypto super app.

The main highlights of this announcement include the launch of Robinhood Chain Mainnet, an Ethereum Layer 2 network based on Arbitrum. The initial partners for this project include Uniswap, Pleiades, Alchemy, BitGo, and Chainlink.

Robinhood has also introduced Stock Tokens for tokenized stocks, allowing qualified users to trade 24/7 and use them as DeFi collateral. This feature covers over 120 countries but is not available to U.S. users.

The platform's wallet now integrates with Lighter for perpetual contracts with no Gas fees. Additionally, Robinhood has launched in Canada, obtained a MAS license in Singapore, and plans to roll out perpetual contracts in Europe.
