The campaign focuses on deepfake and deepvoice scams, where scammers use artificial intelligence to impersonate family members, exchange staff, or government officials during live calls. These types of scams have been on the rise in recent years, with one case cited by Bithumb resulting in a loss of 40 billion won (approximately $29 million) for an individual in Hong Kong.
The guide emphasizes three essential rules for keeping assets safe: never share OTP codes or passwords, never click on URLs from unverified sources, and never send cryptocurrency to a stranger's wallet address. Bithumb also recommends enabling two-factor authentication and blocking logins from overseas IP addresses as additional security measures.
