Cryptocurrency Market Compared to Casino, Analyst Warns of Risks

Willy Woo, a well-known cryptocurrency analyst, has likened the crypto market to a casino, warning investors about the risks of investing in altcoins without an informational or structural edge.

According to Woo, many altcoins underperformed during the 2023-25 cycle due to institutional buyers snapping up locked assets at discounted prices. He cited the example of Solana (SOL), which was sold at significant discounts to Galaxy Digital and Pantera Capital in 2024.

The analyst emphasized that buying Bitcoin is a safer bet, stating that 'Just buy BTC and get on with your life.' Woo's comments come as the crypto market continues to experience volatility, with Bitcoin currently trading at $69,818.20, down 1.96% in the last 24 hours.
