Cardano Van Rossem Hard Fork Activates Tomorrow Amid Whale Accumulation

The Van Rossem hard fork is set to activate on Cardano's mainnet tomorrow at Slot 192,844,800. This upgrade has been ratified by SPOs and DReps with a 77.63% approval rating from delegated community representatives.

According to Input Output, the founding developer of Cardano, this fork is a crucial step towards decentralizing the network's infrastructure. The company will be handing over control of core blockchain infrastructure to outside specialist firms starting in August.

The Van Rossem hard fork aims to lower execution costs on Cardano, making transactions and dApp operations cheaper to run. This upgrade also lays the technical groundwork for Leios, a later scaling upgrade targeting a dramatic increase in transaction throughput by the end of 2026.
